1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Say It Steady iOS application and its companion web pages (together, the “Service”). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to purchase a subscription or create an account.
Operator information: Say It Steady is operated by LIN SHUO, based in China. Operator details will also appear on the App Store listing when available. For questions, contact [email protected].
2. What the service provides
Say It Steady is a coaching app for parents and guardians of children aged roughly 4–14. It offers: a calm-reset flow for hard moments, AI-generated word-for-word coaching plans and practice sets, repair (“Fix it”) guidance for after a rupture, and optional practice reminders.
An email account is optional. AI features require an internet connection and permission to process the necessary content remotely. FamilyPass unlocks unlimited steady plans, practice sets, and up to 5 child profiles. Optional cloud backup and restore cover supported content when an account is connected. AI processing time varies; we do not guarantee a completion time.
3. Subscriptions, billing & renewal
- Billing through Apple. Purchases are processed by Apple via your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment card details.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price then in effect for your region.
- Manage or cancel anytime. Open Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions (or App Store → your profile → Subscriptions) on your device. Cancelling stops future charges; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Annual plan and trial. A 3-day free trial is available only to eligible users where offered on the annual plan. The purchase screen shows your local annual price and applicable offer before confirmation. After a trial, the subscription converts to paid annual billing unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Users who are not eligible may be charged immediately at the displayed annual price.
- Price changes. If we change prices, Apple will notify you where required and apply the change to your next renewal in accordance with applicable law; you can cancel before the change takes effect.
- Child profiles are not Apple Family Sharing. Up to five child profiles does not grant subscription access to other Apple accounts; we do not promise Apple Family Sharing.
- Deletion requests and billing are separate. Request account and data deletion in the app; an accepted request stops account access and sync immediately, and deletion is completed within 7 days. Deleting the app, resetting local data, or submitting a deletion request does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. You do not need to cancel first to submit a deletion request.
4. Refunds
Because purchases are billed by Apple, refunds are requested from Apple, not from us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support with your purchase receipt. We cannot issue, approve, or reverse App Store charges on your behalf, but we will happily help you understand your subscription status if you write to us (§12).
5. Not medical or clinical advice
Say It Steady provides general parenting communication coaching. It does not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, behavioral-health, or legal advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not a substitute for consultation with qualified professionals such as pediatricians, child psychologists, or family therapists.
If your child may be in crisis or at risk of harm — or if you are struggling with thoughts of harming yourself or your child — stop and contact your local emergency number or a licensed professional immediately. Do not rely on this app in emergencies.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only lawfully and only for children in your own care or with the consent of their parent or guardian. You agree not to:
- use the Service to harass, threaten, defame, or harm any person, including a child;
- submit content that is unlawful, abusive, or sexually explicit, or that seeks instructions for harming anyone;
- copy, resell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service, or circumvent its security or usage limits;
- share your account credentials with others or allow unauthorised access.
We may suspend or limit access to protect the Service, other users, or the underlying AI providers from abuse, in a proportionate way.
7. AI-generated content
Plans, scripts, practice questions, and feedback are generated by AI models based on the situation you describe. We work to make them calm, age-aware, and useful, but:
- AI output can be imperfect, generic, or occasionally miss the nuance of your situation — review it before acting on it;
- output is not guaranteed to be complete, accurate, or suitable for any particular outcome, and we do not promise any specific result in your family;
- you remain responsible for how you use the words you receive.
The Privacy Policy describes AI model providers and the API relay service, the content needed for AI processing, and consent choices. You can use non-AI features if you decline. We do not guarantee AI response times or the absence of retention by service providers.
8. Children & family use
The Service is designed and intended for use by adults. Children should not use the app, and profiles should be created by a parent or guardian only for a child in their care. Consistent with our Privacy Policy, we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
9. Intellectual property
The Service — including its text, scripts, coaching frameworks, design, and code — is owned by the publisher or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. You keep full ownership of the content you create (your situations, plans, journal entries); you grant us only the limited licence needed to store, back up, and process it to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Apple and the Apple logo are trademarks of Apple Inc.; their use here is referential only.
10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available on every device.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher’s total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Because purchases run through Apple, Apple’s standard licensed application end-user licence agreement (EULA) also applies to the app and forms part of these Terms.
11. Changes to these terms or the service
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. The effective date above will change, and material updates will be highlighted in the app or on this page before they take effect where required. If you keep using the Service after new Terms take effect, the updated Terms apply to you. If a change materially affects your subscription, and you do not agree, you may cancel before the renewal date.
